Mandatory fields Title (the title of the release) Display Artists (this should be filled in automatically if correct entered in previous steps) Label (the record label or copyright owner) Format (album, EP, single or box-set) Explicit Content (if the content is explicit, meaning not appropriate for children)UPC/EAN (if you have one, otherwise we will add later) Cat. nr. (your label’s own catalog number)Consumer release date (when the release should be made available on the digital platforms) Original Release Date (same as ‘consumer release date’ if it’s a new or upcoming release)(c) copyright year (choose from list) (c) copyright text (normally the name of your label or copyright owner, the line will be visible in most stores.) Genre (choose from list)Default language of Metadata (chose the language of the titles and metadata)Territories (default: ‘World’, meaning all territories)

6. Upload and add assets (tracks) to your release.

05+add+asset.png

To add tracks that haven't previously been uploaded to the platform, chose “Upload new”. Select the master files (.wav) from your computer. Rename the assets with the correct titles and click Create. You can follow the upload status on your screen.
Please note: Leave “Track version” empty if it’s the original version of the track.

ADD EXISTINGIf you want to include tracks that have been previously uploaded to the platform, e.g. if you have released a single and that same track also should appear on the album, then do not upload the same master file again. Instead choose “Add existing”. Search for your previously uploaded asset/track, and it will then appear on your album, already complete with metadata.
You must not enter the same ISRC code for separate uploads. A specific version of a track can only be uploaded once.
If you have a ‘single version’ released and want to add a new version eg. ‘album version’, that has a different mix or length, then uploads the new master and chooses an ISRC code different from the single version.

What is the difference between an Asset and a Product?
An asset is a track/song that can be added to one or many products (Albums, EPs or singles).
A product is a release (Album, EP or single), the product contains one or many Assets (tracks).

7. Copy fields from Product to Asset

08+copy+firelds.png
08d+copy+fields.png

After you've uploaded your master files and entered the titles to the assets, you still see lot’s of empty fields. You can copy information from the Product level to an asset/track. This can be helpful for most releases, since you do not need to fill in information twice.
Make sure you have entered the required information on the Product level.
On your top right on the screen, find “Other actions” next to the Submit-button, choose “Copy fields”.
Select the fields you want to copy.
Copy.
The Assets/tracks have now been updated with the metadata you have entered from the Product.
You can also copy metadata entered for one asset to all the other assets in a product. Check here.

8. Complete the metadata for the first track

Mandatory fieldsTitle (the title of the song) ISRC (the specific ID-code for the track) Genre (choose from list) Language of Performance (enter the language of the vocals, or state ‘instrumental’) Composer (enter the full name of the person who composed the music). Lyricist (if the track has lyrics, enter the full name of the person who wrote the lyrics)
Publishers Add at least one songwriter (composer or lyricist) and state the publishing house (if any). If the song is un-published, type “Copyright Control”. See the example of a complete Asset with all mandatory metadata.

9. Copy metadata from the first track to the others

10b+copy+fields.png

If the product contains more than one song, it’s very time efficient to copy the metadata from one track to the others.Fill in everything once, and then copy to all other tracks.
Make sure you have entered the required information to at least one asset.
On your top right on the screen, find “Other actions” next to the Submit-button, choose “Copy fields”.

Select the fields you want to copy (you probably don’t want to copy the title)
Copy.
The other assets/tracks have now been updated.

10. Submit your release!

11+submit (1).png

Now, the release is ready to be delivered to the stores. From product level, choose “Submit” on your top right. This will send the release to us for a last check. When we have accepted the release and everything looks good, we start the delivery process and the release will soon be available in the stores. Yihaa!
